Music Therapy
Music is a medium that facilitates creativity, space and communication. The word therapy came from the ancient greek word therapeia, which means 'to heal, cure, restore to health'.
Children with Special Needs
God's heart for children with special needs is for them to be healthy and whole. He loves them more than we can ever love, and His music is often the medium that connects them to Jesus. There is a purpose and a calling for each one of them, and they possess God-given gifts that may often be overlooked. For us to even have a glimpse of what their needs are, or to comprehend their inner world, we need to open up to the way God sees them.
Given their childlike-ness, purity and spiritual sensitivities, children with special needs can often grasp the things that are unseen more than we can, and they can even teach us things which we do not know about. There is so much to learn from these precious children.
Parents
Parents of children with special needs are confronted with a unique set of questions and challenges in their lifetime.
Parents, if you are reading this, it is very important for you to know that it is not your fault at all for what had happened to your child. Know that a loving God is ever-present in the midst of trouble, and He wants to take care of you and to love you, just as He loves your child. This is not a journey that you are to take by yourself. It is God's heart for families to find peace in storms, to receive the gift of no condemnation, and to possess a confident expectation of good for their future.
