1 Peter 5:6-7 NKJV
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
God wants us to live care-free!
Jesus took the crown of thorns, hammered into His skull, blood overflowing (John 19) – so that today we can live with great peace and joy!
Come to think of it, cares have never been beneficial, but destructive. Many a times we take them as our own thoughts, but they are the enemy’s fiery darts. In fact, any inroads the devil wants to make in our lives need our permission to entertain it first.
Thought of a game to play:
When the devil throws anxious thoughts at you, treat it like a poison-ball. Throw it immediately to God, saying, ‘Abba, that’s Your responsibility, not mine’. Or simply ‘Yours, Abba,’ as we cast the poison-ball irreversibly into His mighty hand, way bigger than our puny hands.
And Abba loves it when we do that!
Play it like a game for a week.
PS: don’t be surprised when you hear voices that scream: ‘I am so irresponsible! How can I just let go like this!’
Ignore. Those are not our thoughts 🙂
Just like the lady who ignored and simply walked away from the disrespectful whistling and provoking remarks of those lewd men along the sidewalk, the best action is not to react (or give weight) to what is unworthy of our attention; and that is the greatest resistance there is.
No enemy can do nothing to a peaceful christian.
Abba loves us so much that every care (big or small) that affects us produces an even bigger care in His heart for those very cares. Knowing His perfect love casts out all fears (1 John 4:18).
We can be certain that when we cast all our cares at Him, He will resolve them way beyond our expectations!
Amen!
